You’ve seen a number of NCIS season 17 premiere teases as of late revolving around Gibbs and Ziva, but what’s happening with the rest of the team?
In the sneak peek below for Tuesday night’s new episode, you can see McGee and Torres raising a number of questions about a mysterious case that they are looking at. They have a dead body, but they also have no clear sign of where Gibbs is. They know that there’s danger, and they also know that there’s someone else that could be involved.
Speaking with Sloane, McGee makes it clear that Bishop may know something about what is really going on here — which makes a certain degree of sense, given that Bishop is one of the few people who knows the legitimate truth about Ziva being alive. She also may recognize that she could’ve gone to Gibbs with something — provided that she felt some sort of proper need in order to do so.

Over the course of this episode, you’ll see our heroes start to slowly figure out that Ziva is the person Gibbs is working with — or at least that’s the way it seems. The proper reunions may happen in episode 2, but until that time, there are questions aplenty. Torres was sure that Ziva was dead; meanwhile, McGee could be rather upset when he learns that one of his best friends has been alive this whole time and Bishop didn’t bother to say anything when she knew. She may have been trying to just honor Ziva and keep her word, but that may still not be the easiest thing in the world for her to digest.
If you love nostalgia, this NCIS premiere is going to be more than likely for you — but don’t forget that this show still has some tricks up its sleeve. It’s not just about the past — it’s about finding ways to make that relevant in the present!
