Blue Bloods season 10 debate: Should Erin become the new DA?

Blue Bloods season 10

As we prepare for Blue Bloods season 10, more and more story cracks are starting to fill in. That includes some of the latest when it comes to Erin Reagan as she could become the new District Attorney for Manhattan.

Recently, we reported that Dylan Walsh would be coming on board the long-running CBS hit in the role of the new Mayor, someone who is eager and ambitious and also wants Erin to get the gig! Yet, in running for District Attorney, it seems like the Mayor wants to use her in order to push some of his own initiatives. Basically, he wants to trade in his support for some favors for some of his specific causes and the things that mean the most to him.

What Erin is going to have to figure out here is whether or not the run is worth it when she could end up being tethered to someone else’s end goals … especially if those goals don’t align with her own or with Frank’s. We know Erin to be as strong and tough as they come, so we wouldn’t expect to just give in to someone else’s initiatives.

In the end, though, there is one important question here to ponder — should Erin even become the new DA this season? We definitely wouldn’t mind getting to see it, but it’s also not lost on us that there is no real hurry to push things along. If the producers wanted to, they could take their time in order to allow Erin to flourish more in her individual job. Erin becoming the DA would be the high point in her career and we do want it to happen eventually. Yet, we’d be okay if it was a season 11 or 12 storyline if it doesn’t happen this go-around.

The premiere of Blue Bloods season 10 will arrive on CBS just one week from tomorrow!
