After all, that’s been hyped up in a lot of different promotional material for the upcoming season! It’s with this in mind that it’s kinda surprising that the show isn’t going to be highlighting a lot of that in the premiere. The obvious selling point of this episode is going to be the tsunami — after all, it has to be. Yet, what makes this story matter beyond just that are some of the personal implications of it. For Buck and Christopher, for example, it’s adding stakes to the drama. It’s one thing when the people in danger are complete no-names, people we don’t know within the world of the show. It’s a different thing altogether when the people in danger at those we care about. Buck is already going through a lot entering this season. What we’re going to be seeing moving forward now is just adding to the drama. Buck has some big decisions to make on the future of his career, so we’ll see how those choices manifest.
For those who love Ronda Rousey, rest assured that the fighter/wrestler is going to have a significant role in this story, as well.
