Lucifer season 5 has a new supporter: Kelly Clarkson
In the video below, you can see The Voice coach and newly-minted talk-show host Kelly Clarkson talk about her recent love for the show. She’s recently caught up on it, and she sings the praises of the fourth season in here. Unfortunately, she also shares her sadness at the news that season 5 is set to be the final one on Netflix.

It’s really kinda cool in a way to see how up to speed Clarkson is on the various news on the show, including that the final season ended up getting six more episodes — bringing its total order to 16! While we are still bummed that there are no plans for a season 6, at least these final episodes could, conceivably, be split up and it could feel more like two mini-seasons. It’s certainly better than the original plan of just having ten.
While Kelly advocates for us getting another batch of episodes beyond season 5, at the moment that seems unlikely. The writers have moved forward with a plan to approach this at the end, mostly because they want viewers the opportunity to get real closure — after Lucifer almost found itself canceled without a home, there was a chance it could have ended with a cliffhanger. Nobody wants that to be the case here. We suppose that it’s possible that it gets a possible series finale and then a revival at some point down the road from there, but we’re not banking on it. “Never say never” feels like an appropriate motto for the show’s long-term future … and having the support of Kelly never hurts.
