NCIS: New Orleans season 6 premiere video: Pride ponders over his future

NCIS: New Orleans

The NCIS: New Orleans season 6 premiere is coming onto CBS in just two weeks’ time, and within this episode, there is a lot that will be addressed. Take, for example, a dangerous mission that could eventually lead to Hannah Khoury finding herself suspended from the team.

Then, there is also the state of things for Dwayne Pride away from the job. At the end of season 5, he was prepared to spend some time away from the team and visit his mother. He wanted to put a little more stock in the things that mattered most to him following what happened with Apollyon. That also means spending some more time with his girlfriend Rita. The two do care for each other, but what is the endgame here? That is something that we wonder further after watching the sneak peek below.

For Rita, she does recognize that what she is about to do with Pride is significant — she is about to meet his mother for the first time, and wants to do everything that she can in order to make a good impression as a result of that. Pride also talks with her about his own future, which includes another promotion after some of what he’s done in the Big Easy as of late. Pride doesn’t seem to be altogether eager with the idea of making a move to DC — even if that is where Rita is located. He seems more inclined to have things go the other way.

This is what we do wonder about with Pride and Rita in general — it’s clear the two want to be around each other and yet, they live in different cities and each have demanding jobs. Are they ever going to make this into something more than what it is? It’s also clear that Pride isn’t going to leave New Orleans anytime soon — this is his home, and it’s the place he loves more than anywhere else. It’s also hard to imagine the show ever wanting Pride to be anywhere else — it’s kind of hard to have NCIS: New Orleans if the main character makes his home elsewhere.
