Outlander notes: Sam Heughan, Graham McTavish, & Caitriona Balfe news
If you missed it, this weekend Sam posted on Instagram that he was working with Graham McTavish on their new podcast Clan Lands, which is meant to be a way to view the history and culture of Scotland. The more that we hear about it, the more it sounds like there is going to be a travel component here, as well. This weekend, Sam and Graham were at the Glencoe Folk Museum — you can see some photos via the museum’s official account HERE. We wouldn’t be surprised if they are bringing on guests to give context and discuss more of what’s important at various places in Scotland. We know that this will be a podcast that you can take with you, but we are curious to see if there will be some video footage placed online as well.
There’s no official launch date yet for Clan Lands, but we assume that Sam will continue to work on it when he and Graham have room in their very busy schedules.
What’s happening with Caitriona Balfe?
At the moment, Caitriona is in the process of promoting her new movie Ford v. Ferrari, which is having a showcase for itself at TIFF. This is a movie that is working to be a part of the 2020 Oscar race, so we imagine that we’ll be hearing a lot about it over the next few weeks.
So with Sam and Caitriona working on other things, what does this mean for Outlander itself? We don’t think that there is any big delay in filming or anything — just careful scheduling. While Sam and Caitriona are at the forefront of the show, that doesn’t mean that they are going to be on set every single day. One example is how other cast members will film when Sam/Caitriona is away is next month — Sophie Skelton and Richard Rankin will be working while many other cast members are at New York Comic-Con.
What do you want to see with Sam Heughan on Clan Lands, and on Outlander season 5?
