The Walking Dead season 10 promo plays out like a speech
If we had to guess at the moment, we’d go ahead and say this: The writers and producers are eager to create something great this time around. None of them are blind to some of the feedback out there suggesting that the show would never be the same without Rick Grimes on board. They’ve all heard this time and time again. If we were working behind the scenes on this show, we’d listen to that stuff, say “challenge accepted,” and then get to work creating one of the most interesting batches of episodes we’ve seen so far.
We’re not going to say that this video is altogether illuminating — yet, it’s a really cool promo to watch. The imagery is very stylized, and it feels like you’re almost watching an old-school campaign commercial as opposed to a typical promo for the show. It plays out to inspire you, showing you the common principles by which people should live … or at least how they should within the world of a zombie apocalypse. Many of the show’s key players are emphasized, and a lot of them in one way or another are going to play a role in establishing what this world should be now. The Walking Dead doesn’t have as many longtime characters as it once did, but with Michonne, Daryl, and Carol all still there, we believe that they will be the cornerstones. Unfortunately, knowing that Danai Gurira is only there for one more season means that you have to find a way to tell however much Michonne story you have in as short of a time as possible.
We’ve got just under a month to go until The Walking Dead season 10 premieres — with that in mind, we gotta believe that there’s going to be an acceleration of all sorts of stories between now and when the shoe ends up airing.
