Is Matt Frewer leaving Fear the Walking Dead? Is Logan Dead?
In the final chunk of the episode tonight, we saw the departure of Matt Frewer and his character of Logan, the primary antagonist of sorts for the AMC series tonight. What we learned about the character tonight is that he was working with Ginny and her mysterious group, a legion of people who are actually working to create a new society. She fashions them pioneers, people who are trying to expand and build a successful empire. They have a vision for the future; yet, at the same time it’s a brutal, difficult future. Logan was a casualty of everything that happened.

The other question that you’re probably left to wonder now is whether or not Luciana is going to be gone from the show for some time — she’s barely been in the second half of the season but tonight, she made a decision to stick back with Ginny to help them with the oil. That’s a decision that could have long-term ramifications on her future. We have a hard time thinking that this represents the end of the road for her and her time on the show, though — after all, Ginny was in the preview for what’s coming next, so we have to think that Luciana will still play a role.
Yet, we do still wish that, in the end, there were some more opportunities to see Logan’s story fleshed-out a little bit more. We had just started to figure out what his philosophy was on the world — why help the individual who wasn’t going to make it when you can build towards the perceived “greater good” in the end?
