Dancing with the Stars pros heading over to So You Think You Can Dance
While Sharna Burgess and Artem Chigvintsev are best known as pros for Dancing with the Stars, they have another new gig coming up. The two are going to be coming on board So You Think You Can Dance very soon! The two are going to be choreographing an upcoming routine, which means that you’re going to have a chance to see more of their artistry on the screen, and to do so in this case with skilled, accomplished dancers. There is no celebrity here who is going to be learning about dance on the fly.
In discussing coming on board SYTYCD, here is some of what Burgess had to say in a new Instagram Story, via Entertainment Tonight:
“I’m about to head to my second rehearsal for So You Think You Can Dance because yes, I’m choreographing this week … But guess what, it’s not just me. I am choreographing with Artem. We have teamed up and we are doing a routine for So You Think. I can’t tell you what it is. I can’t tell you who it’s with, but I can tell you it’s a lot of fun and that you definitely shouldn’t miss out on it.”
We can’t act like Sharna choreographing So You Think You Can Dance with Artem is some sort of enormous revolution. This is the sort of thing that does happen with pros from Dancing with the Stars here and there. Mark Ballas is a prime example of a pro who has come over and done some work for the Fox series, as well.
We are still shocked in a lot of ways that Artem and Sharna aren’t a part of the new Dancing with the Stars season, and there are a couple of big issues that we’ve got with it. One of the big ones is simply a matter of warning — or lack thereof. Because pros on the ABC ballroom show aren’t often given much lead-up on when they will/will not be participating, it’s hard for them to book other gigs in advance. They plan their lives around potentially being paired up with a celebrity.
