Reef Break episode 13 (finale) preview: Cat is on the run!

Curious to learn what is coming on Reef Break episode 13? If you didn’t know, this is the final episode of the season … and also possibly the final one of the series. It’s one that is going to feature the biggest threat that Cat Chambers has faced in some time, as she is on the run and will do whatever she can in order to escape and/or prove what she can to regain her freedom.

The skeleton for this big finale is a TV tale as old as time — a main character is wrongfully accused of something and over the course of the episode, you have a chance to learn whether or not we’re going to see her find her prove that she didn’t do it. We like to think that she’ll figure things out — after all, doesn’t the show want the option of having more stories to tell in the future should they decide to bring it back?

Cat Chambers is on the run and fearing for her life and freedom. Hearts are broken and futures are uncertain as Cat faces her toughest case yet—to clear her own name. La La Anthony guest stars as Regina O’Casey in the season finale.

You can see a little bit more scoop in the promo below, but it’s mostly all about amping up some of the danger and showing just what sort of stakes there are for Cat over the course of the hour. This should prove to be a fun, adventurous hour that shows some of what the series does best — balancing intensity with beautiful vistas and some lighthearted charm.

While the promo notes that this is the “season” finale rather than the end of the series, that doesn’t mean that ABC is bringing it back. Reef Break is only averaging at the moment a 0.3 rating in the 18-49 demographic and less than 2 million viewers. These are not the sort of numbers that leave us altogether optimistic about the future of the series. Maybe the show is performing well enough in terms of DVR ratings to give it another chance; that is really its only hope at the moment.
