Arrow season 8 spoilers: Another familiar face from the past returning!
For the sake of this article though, we’re dipping all the way back to the early days of Oliver Queen’s story! According to a new report from Deadline, Byron Mann will be coming back on the series coming up as Yao Fei, one-time mentor to Oliver as he was struggling to find himself. The circumstances surrounding his return remain unclear, especially since Yao Fei has also been dead for a really long time. To be fair, bringing back dead characters is something that Arrow seems more than fine to do with some regularity — hence, them opting to bring back people like Malcolm Merlyn and also Adrian Chase.

Since being a part of Arrow, Mann has gone on to do some other awesome stuff including Wu Assassins and Hell on Wheels. We also have a hard time imagining that this is the end of the road for announcements of people from the past turning up. We’re still hoping for one more chance to see Manu Bennett as Slade Wilson, and of course, it goes without saying that Emily Bett Rickards is at the top of many viewers’ wishlist. While she has said in interviews that she is satisfied with the end of Felicity’s story, remember that Steve Carell had said something similar many times about returning as Michael Scott on The Office. Yet, he still found a way to come back in the series finale in one of the most satisfying ways possible.
