Lucifer season 5: Check out a photo from the first table read!

For everyone out there who loves Lucifer as much as we do know that there is some good news to share today! The cast and crew are back together in Los Angeles, and it is all for one purpose in mind: Kicking off work on the fifth and final season of the show.

In a new post on Twitter (see below), show executive producer Ildy Modrovich shared a photo from the first table read! This is when everyone goes through their lines and script together for the first time; it’s serious business, but it’s a tradition for many productions to take these group photos. It just gives you something more to be excited about! It’s also a direct buildup into filming, which is slated to start tomorrow at present. It’s a little surprising for filming to start on a Friday, but it’s clearly what works for this particular cast.

So what are the challenges for the upcoming season? It starts with where Lucifer is in Hell at the end of this season, and the quest then becomes trying to find a way in order to bring him back to Los Angeles — while also still keeping some various demons at bay. It’s going to be a tough, difficult challenge for some of these characters to figure out how to make this happen … but let’s just hope that it gets resolved within the first couple of episodes. With there only being sixteen installments in the final season, there is only so much time for some of the story to be resolved. We want some time to see Lucifer and Chloe together, and for these characters to be able to experience at least some of what it is like to be a couple. We haven’t really had a chance to see that now that all of the secrets are out in the open.

For now, we anticipate that Lucifer season 5 is going to premiere at some point in 2020.
