New Amsterdam season 2 video: Ryan Eggold, cast tease story ahead

As we gear up for the New Amsterdam season 2 premiere, be prepared to get emotional. The finale earlier this year helped to ensure that we were set up for a premiere that’s going to get us right in the feels.

In the video first posted by TVInsider, you can see Ryan Eggold and the rest of the cast discuss some of what’s coming up in the premiere episode. The first order of business is going to be resolving the cliffhanger, and then from there, seeing what happens with Max Goodwin and the rest of the characters.

Judging from what the cast expresses in the video, the premiere is going to work by jumping forward across a couple of different timelines. There will be a time jump to Max’s story a few months after the accident, but you’ll also see throughout the episode every event that happened following the accident. We’re not shocked that they are showing that Max is okay and seems to even be back at work amidst his cancer battle — we didn’t exactly think that the main character of this series would leave the show! The mystery for this show starts to increase a little more dramatically when you look elsewhere. The video is careful to not feature Dr. Bloom, Dr. Sharpe, or Max’s wife Georgia on the other side of the ambulance crash, making it seem as though any of them can die.

We will maintain that we are most worried about Georgia than we are anyone else on the show and there are a number of reasons for that. Take, for example, how Max seems to have the baby with him in the middle of work … and also the fact that it’s easier story-wise to remove Georgia from the equation that it is Bloom or Sharpe. That doesn’t make things easy for Max, since the idea of being both a single parent and medical director is daunting … to put it lightly.
