‘The Vampire Diaries’ season 4 spoilers: Is Ian Somerhalder’s Damon leaving?
The latest sneak peek for Thursday night’s new episode of “The Vampire Diaries” has just been released, and it presents us with a possibility that probably has many fans of one Damon Salvatore screaming “no!” at the top of their lungs: he may skip town as soon as the vampire hunter Connor is officially dealt with.
So why would Damon choose to crush all of our collective hearts in such a cruel and dramatic way? In the latest sneak peek released by The CW below, there is one thing that we can really blame it on at the moment: Elena choosing Stefan over him. During the clip, Ian Somerhalder’s character (who will also have another signature shirtless scene soon) reminds his brother that the two made a pact that whoever Elena did not choose would leave town. Since Elena obviously chose to be with Stefan, he is now looking to fulfill his end of the bargain.
Really, Damon thinks that he is doing Stefan a favor just by sticking around long enough that he can help to dispatch Connor, who has been a major thorn in just about everyone’s side in the past week or so since his arrival to Mystic Falls. We assume that there is some sort of connection to the council here, but it is still unclear as to what that bond could be given that most of the members did not realize that they were about to be blown up when they were. (Our guess? That someone gave him a call before they were all trapped in that room together.)
As much as Damon may say that he wants to leave, we really know him (and his feelings for Elena) better than that. It’s going to take quite a bit to really get this guy out the door, especially when he cares about these people far more than he is letting on.

Good point Anam. I knew he would come back sooner or later, just didn’t know he would come back so soon. Yeah though, she will be broken when he leaves.

fans really need to calm down, yes Stefan made that pathetic deal n Damon accepted it unwillingly, but even if he does leave town, he’ll come back after an episode. Damon is the heart n soul of the show. I m actually happy with the prospect of him leaving because Elena needs a wakeup call n realize how much she loves him. That being said, DELENA FOREVER <3

I get that Damon made a deal with Stefan he would leave if Elena chose Stefan, but why can’t he just stay and break the bargain like he ussually does this time? I know that is cruel but still! This is Damon here! Will he be gone for the rest of the show or come back later? I imagine he will come back later because everybody loves Ian Somerhalder in The Vampire Diaries. I liked the show so much that when I finished it on Netflix I was sad I had to wait a whole year before the fourth came out, but I have a hulu account that has the show so I came bouncing out of my room dancing I was so happy. The people that were there said to just watch the show since I found it. My point is ” NOOOOO!!!!!!”
