The Masked Singer season 2 is going to be premiering on Fox come Wednesday, September 25, but you don’t have to wait too long in order to see a new sneak peek at some of what’s coming.
In a new post on Twitter, the show’s official account confirmed that on September 15 at 8:00 p.m. Eastern, you can see both on Twitter and on Fox a “Super Sneak Peek” at the upcoming season. What will this be? We imagine that it’ll be a chance to get to see some of the costumes and hear some insight from the judges about the new season and some of what’s coming.
Could we get to hear some of the performances? That’s a difficult, delicate thing for Fox because they don’t want anyone to guess the identity of their masked characters too soon. As fantastic and fun as the first season was, one of the big problems was that Twitter had uncovered a good chunk of the singers’ identity mere minutes after they performed. It’s almost a better show to watch if you aren’t on social media or just avoid it — the ideal way to watch is surrounded by friends and family who are shouting out various guesses.

Granted, there are also some singers that are almost impossible to mask. Take, for example, Donny Osmond and Gladys Knight. Both of them were so obvious almost from the moment that they first performed. Some singers just have that immediately-recognizable voice! At a certain point, you do need to silence the part of your brain that wants to play detective and just allow yourself to have fun with the show and the concept.
One more thing that’s great entering season 2? Knowing that there is a season 3; that way, you don’t have to worry all that much about anything over the weeks to come.
