It’s been a while since we’ve seen Jack Spheer on Supergirl, and we honestly thought the character was dead. Yet, are we going to see Rahul Kohli back on the show now moving into season 5? All signs suggest that this is going to be the case.
In a new post on Twitter, the former iZombie star suggested that he is going to be back on the show … but the question remains how he is going to come back. Jack Spheer had a history with Lena Luthor and you saw some of that play out years ago. Yet, we also saw him seemingly die after the Biomax crisis. Bringing the character back could happen via flashbacks, a resurrection, or some sort of alternate-universe weirdness.
Ultimately, the one thing that we’ve come to know about Supergirl more so than anything is that they can and will always find a way to bring characters back, if they so choose to do so. All they have to do is get extremely creative. Bringing Kohli back to the show should be a treat for everyone who misses iZombie already, and also wants to play around with some of Lena’s backstory, as well. We know that she is in for a tough season — after everything that happened with Lex Luthor and with her learning that Kara is Supergirl, she is going to face a lot of psychological challenges. We’ll always want to believe that she will continue to battle for the good guys, but doing that in midst of so much turmoil is easier said than done.
We know that Supergirl is already pretty deep into season 5 production, so we wouldn’t expect the return of Kohli for at least a few episodes — unless, of course, the production team has come up with some sort of creative way to film things out of order. The series is set to come back in October, and kick off a batch of episodes that is largely about the dangers of technology. When it comes to big villains, there are still many mysteries floating around out there.
