Could a BH90210 season 2 renewal happen at Fox?
Here’s the funny thing about it, though — we still don’t have all that great of an idea as to how far the ratings for this show are going to fall. At the start of the season, it felt like a season 2 for the show was going to be a sure thing. At this point, we’re not anywhere as sure. Think about it this way — the ratings for this past episode fell down to a 0.7 rating in the 18-49 demographic, its lowest live total yet. Meanwhile, the show also generated under 2 million viewers. None of these things do much to make you think that the bleeding has stopped.
What’s happened with this show’s numbers isn’t really a surprise — it’s indicative in a lot of ways what people thought the show could’ve been going it versus what it actually is. There was probably a significant amount of thought among viewers that this would be a proper Beverly Hills, 90210 revival, even though it was never promoted that way. the idea of the show was just so weird and so different from anything else that is on there. It’s more of an acquired taste, and it may need a little bit of time for everyone to really get on board the show and embrace its various oddities.
The good news at the moment, though, is that the show’s average ratings are still better than the majority of the scripted summer stuff that is out there. With that in mind, it feels likely that Fox would want to continue this for at least one more go-around … even if it is in the summer. We know that the cast seems to be fairly open to coming back and doing this again and if that is the case, why not go ahead and try to make something more happen?
We should have more on the future of this franchise at some point over the next few weeks — stay tuned, as we’ll have more on the subject as soon as we hear it!
Do you think that there is a chance at a BH90210 season 2 down the road?
