Fear the Walking Dead season 5: Lennie James on Madison theories

Is Madison alive on Fear the Walking Dead? We know that this is one of the biggest fan theories that is out there. Losing Kim Dickens from the show was terrible, and while we’ve seen the show on without her, there is a huge void left behind. Bringing her back would make for an excellent twist and, beyond just that, it would also allow this show to perhaps boost its ratings — the numbers for Fear the Walking Dead aren’t what they once were, and one of the only ways to foreseeably change that around is to get people buzzing and talking about the show again.

Madison could bring viewers back; yet, we wonder if there’s any steam to this theory now. The big idea that was out there was that maybe Madison was the person behind the tree art; alas, we learned that to not be the case on this past episode. If there is a way to bring her back now, it would have to be unrelated to everything else going on with the story.

For the time being, though, Lennie James (who plays Morgan) is making it clear that he would love to get her back on this show — and for him to be able to work with her. Check out some of what he had to say on the subject via Digital Spy:

“I would love [her to come back], to be absolutely honest,” he exclusively told Digital Spy. “I think everybody would … I’ve heard that fan theory, I can’t really comment on it, but one of the regrets I have is that I didn’t get to do any scenes with Kim before she left. So if she came back and I could do scenes with her that would be absolutely lovely.

“But the chances are that won’t happen. But what do I know? Anything can happen in our planet and in this world, but me saying I would love to work with Kim is not me surreptitiously saying that it’s going to happen.

“The truth is she’s an actress that I greatly admire and would love to work with.”

We’ll continue to cross our fingers and hope for the best … but also continue to expect almost nothing. It’s hard to be optimistic about getting a chance to see her back at the moment.
