Absentia season 3 starts filming; see Patrick Heusinger’s song!
It’s true that Absentia season 3 is filming — just as it’s also true that Amazon is dropping the ball on making an announcement. Clearly, the show is coming back; why not just go ahead and announce the great news now?
Anyhow, if you want to see a celebration of all things related to the show kicking off production, all you have to do is check out the post below via Patrick Heusinger! This is an especially fun sort of filming tease, largely because it features a celebratory “first day of school song” now that the cast is getting back to work.
One of the reasons why this amuses us so is mostly because Absentia is such a different sort of show from anything that is shown off in this song — we’re talking about one of the most serious programs on TV and one that has no problem telling stories of characters who are steeped in darkness and forced to take on a wide array of challenges. Some of these are due to the job, whereas others are due to issues within their past.
(Warning: Season 2 spoilers ahead.)
Entering the second season Emily Byrne (Stana Katic) and Nick Durand (Heusinger) are going to be forced to contend with the death of Alice, Nick’s new love and a woman who first got with him with an ulterior motive. She grew to love him, but the initial circumstances of their relationship proved to be one of the biggest, most devastating twists at the heart of that whole season. Moving forward now, the challenge becomes trying to see how these two and their son Flynn move forward … and also what other sort of challenges inevitably await them since some are almost sure to crop up.
At the moment, we firmly anticipate that we will be seeing Absentia season 3 when we get around to 2020 — pending some sort of shocking delay.
