Recently, we posted that Katherine Heigl (Samantha Wheeler) was done with production after being a part of the show the past couple of years. Now, we can confirm the same with both Dule Hill (Alex Williams) and Amanda Schull (Katrina Bennett). While both of these characters were a part of the Suits world prior to season 8, this is when they first became prominent, foundational characters in the story and we learned a lot about them. They helped to establish new dimensions in the post-Mike Ross era and while we’ve missed that character, at the same time the writers and cast did a great job in making sure that Suits still worked. The DNA of the series is a big part of what made it special, as has the chemistry with most of the cast.

As everyone does prepare to say goodbye to Suits, we imagine that it’s going to remain emotional from now until the series finale airs later this year. It’s hard to imagine anything otherwise. Patrick J. Adams is likely to be back for the finale, though he seems to have wrapped his role earlier than some others. (He’s already working on his next project, playing John Glenn for the upcoming series The Right Stuff.) We’re sure that many other cast members are going to move forward to some other roles as well, but there’s probably no hurry for them to do so. They’ve found a lot of success the past several years and have been very busy. Heigl is the only current series regular who has already lined up another full-time project; we’ll see what else comes out over the coming weeks.
How do you think Suits season 9, and the series, will end?
