NCIS season 17 filming: Danger, fun, and more jumpsuits

There have been headlines aplenty in relation to NCIS season 17 over the past couple of days, with most of them being geared around one subject: Ziva’s return! We know that she’s coming back and not only that, but we know now that she will be appearing in multiple episodes.

For the sake of today’s article, we’re talking more about what is happening on the show’s set this week, as some of the show’s main characters may be tackling a rather grisly case. How else do you describe the matching red jumpsuits? We’ve written about Wilmer Valderrama and Emily Wickersham wearing them previously, but a new post on Wilmer Valderrama’s Instagram Stories confirms that he, Emily, and Sean Murray are all still wearing them this week.

So why wear the jumpsuits? It’s a sign that the team is dealing with some hazardous material in whatever they are filming at the moment — otherwise, do you think that someone like Torres would want to run around in this? It’s really not his desired fashion choice. Odds are, this is going to be one of those cases that puts the team somewhat out of their element and challenges them to come up with a solution. It could make them uncomfortable, and that should prove to be a good thing entertainment wise for all of us watching.

Given that there hasn’t been any Cote de Pablo sighting on set this week, the team may not be doing anything with Ziva for the time being. Our understanding is that she will be in at least one more early episode this fall, and we’ll hopefully hear more about that over the next few weeks. Her other episodes probably won’t film for a while, but we are okay with this as we are enjoying this slow ride. We don’t need everything all at once.

Whatever the NCIS cast is filming now, we have a feeling it will air at some point in October.
