When Calls the Heart season 7 filming officially kicks off
In a post on Twitter, series star Erin Krakow confirmed that production on the latest batch is currently underway — and she shared some photographic proof to go along with it! Hope Valley is welcoming many of its familiar faces back for what is sure to be another season with drama, romance, a little adventure, and memorable characters. We also imagine that this is a season that will introduce some new faces and allow for some opportunities to send the story in exciting directions.
One of the obvious changes that is going to come behind the scenes this season is getting a chance to see how the writers tell some stories without the Lori Loughlin headlines overshadowing things. While there was some great stories (including some important matters of the heart for Elizabeth) that transpired near the end of season 6, there were a lot of challenges that went along with curating the story. The team had to find a way to cut that character out of footage that was already filmed and fit the story in a new direction. That wasn’t easy and now, the team can plot everything out in advance and create a story that is very much what you would want from this show.
When Calls the Heart season 7 is not going to be airing for some time. Even though filming may be currently underway, we wouldn’t expect the show to come back until fairly early on in the new year. With that being said, we wouldn’t be surprised if the full season wraps up earlier in 2020 than season 6 did. We’re sure that Hallmark Channel would like to air all of the episodes consecutively after they themselves faced some challenges following the Loughlin headlines. Season 7 is a chance for everyone to turn the page, and also show further why this is one of the network’s signature shows.
