Outlander season 5 teased (briefly) in new Starz video
If you look HERE, you can see a small preview of Jamie (Sam Heughan) and Claire (Caitriona Balfe) in the midst of a lot of other stuff that is also present within the clip. Think along the lines of teases for Power, Hightown, and a number of other series that are coming up in the future. There may not be anything in here that constitutes as plot spoilers, but this is still technically some of the first video “footage” that we’ve had of the season so far. We’ve seen the cast in photos plus some behind-the-scenes videos, but this stuff is clearly a little bit different.
For those who are not aware, Outlander season 5 is based on the Diana Gabaldon novel The Fiery Cross and features the Frasers and their extended family working to preserve the peace as long as they can amidst a dangerous time — the threat of the Revolutionary War is bearing down in them, and Jamie must endure the stress of knowing that the government wants nothing more than to force him to take down Murtagh and the Regulators. He’s got a lot of tough decisions to make, while at the same time learning to be a good husband, father, and even know grandfather. There will be new characters and a story that feels very much epic in scale.
Given that there is already an Outlander season 6 confirmed on the other side, there is also some joy in knowing that this is a series that is far from finished. There are going to be opportunities to see more of these characters for some time still. This is a fantastic love story, but one that offers up so much more — think action, drama, pain, and even the occasional bit of humor alongside the fantastic sets and beautiful vistas.
Outlander season 5 will premiere in early 2020.
