Lucifer season 5: The earliest of premiere title teases!

Lucifer

Filming for Lucifer season 5 is going to kick off before too long, but why not enjoy a little bit of episode-title fun while you wait?

In a new post on Twitter, executive producer Ildy Modrovich did her part to hand down a small little tease for what the premiere episode is titled — and she did so in the form of initials. “R.S.D.G.” is a clue for whatever the title will be, and because we’re dealing with four different words here, the possibilities are fairly endless.

Now that we’ve said that, though, we’ll go ahead and admit that we already has our own ideal interpretation for this: “Return Soon Devil Guy.” Doesn’t that work well for what’s happening when it comes to the story? Remember that at the start of season 5, our favorite devil is going to be down in Hell, working to showcase a little bit of authority. Some of the demons there weren’t taking him seriously at the end of season 4 and herein lies an opportunity to pun them in their place to a certain extent. We imagine that through this upcoming premiere, we’ll see Chloe and others dealing with his absence — though she may be dealing with the loss more so than others. For the likes of Maze and Amenadiel, time away means nothing when compared to everything else in their lives. Chloe’s lifespan, however, is a little bit different. She also just recognized the extent of her feelings for him and we imagine that she’ll spend some of the premiere episode doing what she can to find a way to bring him back.

Suffice it to say, we’re expecting a first episode that is going to have some emotional moments — combined of course with some signature Lucifer fun and crime-solving. This is a show that likes to throw all of these your way.

Remember that the final season is now going to have 16 episodes, and we wouldn’t be shocked if they air in different halves — with the first coming your way in the first half of 2020. This is just our speculation, so we’ll wait and see if it turns out to be true.
