How The Flash season 6, Arrow season 8 could have more Monitor
So how much, specifically, will we have a chance to check him out? According to TVLine, Garrett is going to be appearing in ten episodes combined across the Arrowverse this season, including of course the five-part crossover event. As for whether he will be playing the Monitor or the Anti-Monitor within those scenes, that remains to be seen … but he’ll likely be fantastic either way. We’ve already seen Garrett aplenty through many of these shows, especially after he made cameos across some of the most-recent finales. Heck, he even made an appearance in the audience for the Legends of Tomorrow finale as the team used the power of music to bring Nate back to life (seriously).
So while you think about what The Monitor/Anti-Monitor could bring to the table this go-around, check out some of what The Flash executive producer Eric Wallace had to say about what you should do, per the aforementioned website, to prepare for the crossover:
“Before I sit down to watch this year’s crossover, I would really rewatch all three episodes of ‘Elseworlds,’ because it will enrich your viewing experience. Without giving away any spoilers, there are certain ‘elements’ that will be revisited in ‘Crisis,’ that were very deliberately planted back then and now we’re going to pay off.”
Everything when it comes to this story has been set up for a lengthy period of time — heck, you can argue that the events of Crisis On Infinite Earths were first set up all the way back at the start of The Flash. There have been some creative changes here and there — we wonder if it was always a plan to speed up the arrival of the Crisis — but there have been all sorts of hints planted over time.
