New Amsterdam season 2 poster shows off a different Max Goodwin

Leading up the September 24 premiere date for New Amsterdam season 2, the NBC show has shared the first poster for what’s ahead.

What’s our takeaway? Well, for starters, that someone has allowed Ryan Eggold’s Max Goodwin to get a shave and a haircut. After struggling with his cancer battle, and dealing with devastating circumstances in the finale, Max is going to emerge on the other side of it. There is no guarantee that he is going to be a-okay after what he went through, but he looks a little more put-together physically.

As for the slogan of “breaking the system takes care,” that’s pretty much what you would expect from a medical drama like this, one that features rebellious doctors doing what they can in order to help patients very much in need. Whether it be Max or any of the other doctors, what they want more than anything else is to show that patient care is paramount over anything else — and they’ll do whatever they can to ensure that it gets some of the proper attention that it deserves.

Before we see more of that, though, we also imagine that the writers will address fully the season 1 cliffhanger. We still don’t know who’s going to survive in between Dr. Sharpe, Dr. Bloom, or Max’s wife Georgia!

One of the things that we’ve noticed this year is that NBC has been more specific with the branding on some of their posters that they have ever been before. Take, for example, then putting “NBC’s The Voice” on their poster for that show, and they’ve done the same thing here. What’s a little weird is that they have NBC’s New Amsterdam before the NBC logo at the bottom of the poster. Isn’t this a little bit redundant? We get it that they’re trying to separate this show from the alcoholic bevarage of the same name, but still.
