Outlander season 5 notes: A BTS tease; New York Comic-Con details

Outlander season 4Welcome to another edition of CarterMatt Outlander notes! There are a few different things to discuss today, but let’s begin with a reminder that season 5 production is still ongoing … albeit quietly. This hasn’t been a week robust with activity, especially since the cast and crew can only showcase so much of what they are up to.

Now … let’s talk goat love, which is a series of words we never imagined that we’d be saying ever on this site. The new post on Instagram below via Sophie Skelton shows you the latest animal-related update from season 5 … and it’s kinda sweet. Or, at least we hope that it’s sweet and that these two goats aren’t about to become a problem and eat a hole through someone’s couch (often the argument posed when the topic of getting a goat comes up at our house). Ironically, this is not the first goat-related Outlander update that we’ve shared; remember when Caitriona Balfe took an image with one?

While all of this may be silly, it all comes around to being a reminder that the Starz series is expanding Fraser’s Ridge and making it into a place that can give generations a fantastic home for themselves. Increasing the animal population showcases the region’s growth.

Just love all round here on the #Outlander set

We know that much of the Outlander cast will work tirelessly on the series for the next month, and early in October some of them will get a chance to head to the United States for New York Comic-Con. (Sam Heughan and Caitriona Balfe are confirmed, but there’s no confirmation on anyone else yet.) We can go ahead and tell you the day in which Outlander will be a part of the convention — Saturday, October 5. There will be a panel as well as an autograph signing on the day. If you’re hoping for some season 5 video footage, we’re optimistic that something will be shown off! We just wouldn’t expect the full first episode given how far away this date is from the premiere. (Season 5 isn’t premiering until early January.)

What are you the most excited to see with Outlander season 5?

Let us know in the comments, and remember here to stick around — we’re going to have some other news on the show soon. (Photo: Starz.)
