The Conners season 2 spoilers: Is Katey Sagal preparing to return?

Is The Conners season 2 going to feature more of Katey Sagal, as big of a sitcom name as they come? If the show has it their way, they’d be happy to get her back for a significant stint.

According to TVLine, the series is working to court the former Married … with Children actress for a significant arc as Louise, a former high-school friend of Dan and Roseanne who ended up leaving town to pursue her dreams of becoming a big name in the music business. However, she’s now back, and she even expressed some interest in John Goodman’s character in an episode last season. (He declined.)

There is no confirmation as of yet from ABC as to whether or not the return will solidify, but we don’t have to tell you why they would want to have Katey on board. We are talking here about a prominent sitcom icon and someone with great comedic timing, let alone someone who they’ve featured already. If Katey’s schedule lines up, it’s also a great venue for her — The Conners is in position now to fight for the title of one of TV’s highest-rated comedies. It already was stronger than Modern Family at ABC this past season, and this go-around it may end up lagging only behind Young Sheldon — provided that it keeps a lot of its audience with The Big Bang Theory off the air.

With The Conners season 2 poised to have more episodes than ever before, we imagine that this is going to be a big, exciting opportunity for the show to dive into these characters and where they are now. Whether if you are talking about the show before Roseanne’s dismissal or even season 1 of The Conners last year, one of the things that was holding it back was that it didn’t have a whole lot of episodes in either season. That made it challenging to try and tell a number of stories since you had to keep the pace moving knowing full well that it wouldn’t be long until the finale.
