The Affair season 5 episode 1 promo: Helen’s sadness and rage

In just one week’s time The Affair season 5 episode 1 is going to be coming onto Showtime and as you would expect, it’s going to be dramatic. We’re gearing up for a big, dramatic start to what is the final run of episodes on the network, and at the center of this story you’re going to see a quest for one thing above all else: Healing. Will there be opportunities to see characters get better and find the solace that they seek? The promo at the bottom of this article has some insight.

When it comes to Noah, it seems like what he’s craving more so than anything else is redemption. He’s trying to find a way in order to get it after all of his mistakes from the past several years, and in his mind, he thinks that the best way in order to get this is to seek out Helen. Unfortunately for him, she’s not so keen to offer absolution. She doesn’t have any real reason or motivation to want for this to happen. She’s in the process of dealing with her own issues and feeling whatever she needs to — mourning, to be specific. She’s trying to grapple with the idea of losing Vik, which seems to be happening at some point either during or prior to the premiere. He had cancer and in that way, his exit is inevitable. She was preparing for it during the most-recent finale.

Finally, the promo gives you a small look at Anna Paquin as an older version of Joanie, someone who is working quite hard in order to ensure that she can get some answers about Allison. She’s the same age that Allison was when she died and because of that, she will have so many different thoughts and concerns swirling around in her head.
