Bachelor in Paradise 2019 video: is John Paul Jones falling for Tayshia?

One of the joys of Bachelor in Paradise is when you get those rare moments where it seems like people are genuinely falling for each other — especially when it doesn’t feel like they would ever date on the outside world. Take, for example, John Paul Jones and Tayshia Adams.

On paper, you’d look at these two and say that they’re largely opposites. With JPJ, we’re talking here about someone who came across on Hannah Brown’s Bachelorette season as a total surfer bro with the long hair and not a whole lot of deeper thought. Yet, that may have been a part of the editing around him. So far on this show, he’s establishing himself as something more; think along the lines of someone who is deeper, who loves Shakespeare, and has no problem wearing his heart on his sleeve.

Here, he seems to be open to exploring some of a future with Tayshia. As the sneak peek below (via People Magazine) gives away, he feels completely smitten by Tayshia and is hopeful that she could someday become Tayshia Paul Jones. We’re not sure that she would take both his middle and last name … but we’ll let him have this moment. It’s the most passionate we’ve seen him be about someone within Bachelor Nation and he legitimately enjoys her company. He also has no time bringing out her spontaneous/random side. Take, for example, getting her to jump right into the pool with them.

So while the relationship between the two of them is growing, we don’t think we’re at the point yet where you can say that they’re locked into a future together. We’d say that they are in somewhat of the same boat to Chris Bukowski and Katie, another couple that is building in the right direction and don’t seem to be threatened by someone else coming into Paradise. There is still a lot of flux across the board this season — maybe Dylan and Hannah G. can get there, but she needs to figure out that she wants to be with him first. Also, she needs to probably make it clear that she is committed to him after he’s struggled seeing her with Blake.
