It hasn’t been easy finding out news when it comes to Agents of SHIELD season 7, mostly because the season isn’t premiering for a long time still and obviously, ABC values their secrets! Why would they want to let a lot of information out there long before the show premieres – they gotta keep that for when the hype matters!
Yet, we are pleased to at least have one drop of casting news at the moment, as Patrick Warburton will be turning up at least one more time throughout the final batch of episodes!
Per ComicBook.com, Warburton himself confirmed his return while at Dublin Comic Con recently. His character of Agent Stoner previously appeared back in season 5 via some archival footage — this is a character based mostly in the 1970’s, so SHIELD would have to work a little bit in order to eventually find their way to him.

Luckily, we know this about the final season already — there are plans to visit a wide array of different eras thanks to the time-travel themes that are at the heart of the story at the moment. There’s a chance for us to witness all sorts of exciting stuff and we’re looking forward to seeing the cast move from the 1930’s to some other decades as they do their best in order to save the future. This season should feel not only like an opportunity to investigate the early days of SHIELD, but the early days of the Marvel Cinematic Universe as a whole. There’s a lot of fun stuff to explore here and we’re more than excited to have an opportunity to have a lot of this play out.
Unfortunately, the hardest part here is going to be waiting, given that we are not expecting Agents of SHIELD to come on the air with season 7 until we get around to the summer of 2020.
