Outlander season 5: The Caitriona Balfe – goat photo the world needed

Outlander season 4

There are a couple of things that we think most of the Outlander fandom can agree on. First and foremost, everyone loves behind-the-scenes photos from season 5 production. Also, everyone loves goats. Or, at least everyone loves goats before they eat a lot of your stuff.

Now, we bring you a photo of Caitriona Balfe alongside a goat, and we like to think that this is enough to help make the world a little bit happier. Balfe posted this photo of herself alongside the animal in a new post on Twitter, and what clearly makes it is a combination of her expression and then also said goat — few animals give you the whole dazed-and-confused vibes upon taking pictures quite like goats and that is a bit part of the overall fun.

So what is a goat doing on the set of Outlander season 5? The short answer here is that Caitriona is probably filming some scenes out and around Fraser’s Ridge and it makes sense for them to have a lot of animals! That’s probably one of the more interesting challenges of the new season, as Fraser’s Ridge would have animals and working with animals isn’t always the easiest thing in the world to do. How often do goats do what you want them to do? Not all that often.

We’re not sure that any goat will have the most paramount of stories moving into new episodes next year, mostly because there are other animals seemingly destined to command a little bit more of the spotlight. Take, for example, Adso the cat, or potentially Rollo if Young Ian returns this season. There is a big challenge with that character, as you want him to be gone from the show long enough for his absence to matter; yet, at the same time you also want to see him again and get a sense of how he’s changed since spending time with the Mohawk.

What do you want to see in terms of Caitriona Balfe – goat material on Outlander season 5?
