Homeland season 8 spoilers: Who is new character Mike Dunne?
Oh, and we’ve also learned further about a new addition. According to a new report from Deadline, State of Affairs actor Cliff Chamberlain is going to be appearing in a recurring role throughout the upcoming season as Mike Dunne, the new CIA Station Chief in Kabul, Afghanistan. This is the same position that Carrie Mathison held all the way back in season 4, so it’s a job that Carrie will likely be able to relate to on a certain level. She’s been through this before, so she will be able to relate to some of the various ups and downs associated with the job.
Of course, whether or not you’re going to be able to see Carrie interact with Mike remains to be seen — we just think that on some level, it’s inevitable. Why not bring her back to a former home base for her?
In general, we think that there are a lot of difficult challenges coming up on Homeland as we see some of these characters start to work towards what they want their final legacy to be. We know that this is a show very much about heroism, and about what happens to people who are in the thick of things, trying to whatever they can in order to ensure that American lives are safe. It’s also always been one of the most timely programs out there on TV. Within this final season, we’re sure that bringing things to modern-day America is going to remain a top priority.
