Yellowstone season 2 episode 9 preview: ‘Enemies by Monday’

What is coming up on Yellowstone season 2 episode 9? Quite a lot, given that this is the second-to-last installment this season! Throughout “Enemies by Monday,” we’re going to be gearing up for a possible showdown like no other.

Think about some of what we had tonight, starting with the promise of a showdown of sorts in Jackson Hole. Malcolm Beck and John Dutton are meeting in the middle of the day in public — which, on paper, feels almost right. If you’re meeting someone you don’t trust, it makes 100% total sense in order to do it in a place where everyone can see what’s going on. How reckless is Malcolm going to be?

Yet, the #1 question that we have to wonder here is whether or not there is some sort of elaborate plot at work here for Malcolm — think in terms of a diversion. We know going into the next new episode that Malcolm wants to take someone who John loves away from him, and it feels as of right now like Tate could be a candidate for that. We also don’t want to rule out any of John’s kids, though we don’t think that Jamie is altogether high on his list of favorites.

The Duttons gear up for a final fight with the Becks; Beth helps Monica out of an uncomfortable situation.

For Monica, we know already that one of her priorities right now is just trying to find a stable home for herself, Kayce, and Tate. Does that mean having a future out on the ranch — or, finding a home somewhere else? That’s something that this family needs to figure out, but it could be more complicated by more dangers coming in the direction of the ranch. Because of what we know from Beck, do you think he’s above sending some of his cronies out in order to cause a lot of chaos at the ranch? We’re not putting it past him and it’d be foolish to draw any big assumptions otherwise.
