The Masked Singer season 2 is going to premiere on Fox next month, and judging from the latest trailer, it’s going to be a feast for the senses! We’ve got new masked characters, returning judges, and plenty of fun.
In the end, though, the biggest thing that we know now is that this show is a hit. That matters when it comes to the production design, and also just how much the producers have learned from what they did the first time around. They know what rocked about the show, and hopefully some of the stuff that needs to change. (Take, for example, some of the clues that were a little too on-the-nose — we know that this show wasn’t necessarily made with social media in mind, but still.)

Within the promo, there are opportunities to meet some of these masked characters for the first time. So who are we talking about here? To go along with folks like the Skeleton and the Flamingo (who we met in a prior promo), this video also gives you a sense of the Panda, the Spider, some sort of weird Christmas Tree person, a character who looks like they may be baked goods, and another Monster? It feels that way. (Hey, the Monster won the first time around.) The costumes are all awesome, though it seems like everyone learned from last season that the full-body costume like T-Pain had as the Monster was a bad move. All evidence points to him sweating himself to death in that thing.
Expect a season of The Masked Singer that is bigger and more epic than ever. We’re just hoping that it personally lives up to a ton of the expectations that we have. The first season was a thrill to watch, and we found ourselves feeling surprisingly moved by some of what we had at the end of the season. We had no idea that we’d come to care about some of these characters so much.
