There’s a chance you may have heard the buzz about Katrina Law joining Hawaii Five-0 season 10 as a new series regular. Today, the news was made official!
Today, CBS confirmed that the Arrow alum (whose credits also include Training Day and also The Oath) will be a new series regular. The role is that of Quinn Liu, described as a “former Staff Sergeant with Army CID recently demoted for insubordination. After an explosive collision with Five-0 on a case involving veterans, she soon becomes a loyal ally to the team that has always valued integrity over playing by the rules. Sharp-tongued in several languages, Quinn has a deep understanding of military culture, a mysterious past, and a deft ability to match wits with McGarrett.”
What is it about the Hawaii Five-0 Task Force that attracts rebels? That’s a great question, given that McGarrett and Tani Rey both have a little history of mixing things up already.
In a statement confirming the addition of Katrina, executive producer Peter M. Lenkov had the following to say:
“We are thrilled to have Katrina join the 10th season Hawaii-Five-0 as a series regular. She dazzles as Quinn, the team’s newest recruit, and viewers are going to love seeing how she first encounters McGarrett and Danny. If you know the show well, you’ll be feeling some déjà vu.”
Given what we’ve seen of Katrina already, she’s more than capable of handling some of this show’s intense action sequences. We’re also curious to see how well she plays into some of the more humorous scenes. Hawaii Five-0 has long done a good job of acclimating itself to various new additions and cast changes — a part of that comes from developing the characters that are there, and another part of it comes from constant reinvention and having a tone and Ohana atmosphere that makes everyone feel welcome. We are looking forward to seeing what Quinn brings to the team.
