‘American Idol’ notes: Jessica Sanchez, Adam Lambert, Scotty McCreery

You know you’ve made it when you get the opportunity to perform at an event that not only features Neil Diamond also on its roster, but has George Clooney in attendance; in other words, Jessica Sanchez has officially made it.

Less than six months after coming in second on this past season of “American Idol,” the singer (who, may we remind you, is still a teenager) was posting some photos alongside the likes of Clooney on her Twitter account from the Carousel Ball of Hope. She was at this event in part thanks to the legendary producer David Foster, who has worked with some of the most influential artists in the history of music over the course of the past three decades. Hopefully, this means that we will be seeing even more collaborations happening at some point in the fairly near future.

Adam Lambert talks “Trespassing” and more – Just in case you need another reminder to call in to your local radio station and request the season 8 star’s latest single, we have it for you here. In a new interview with Modern Times Magazine, Adam gave a shout-out to the fact that the single is out there now waiting for radio spins, and he even talked about how it is in a sense meant to move away from what you traditionally hear on the airwaves these days:

“Well, the single is out now — request it at your local radio station if you want to — it is a song about being who you want to be and not letting anyone stand in your way. It’s like a march or an outcry for me. It is the first track on the record and it kick-starts the whole thing. It sets out what I am about — especially on this album. Sonically, the sound of the song is something that is rebelling against and trespassing on the current format in radio. It’s not trendy. It’s a different thing. We definitely borrowed a little bit from Queen and Michael Jackson.”

Scotty McCreery’s new TV gig – Just in case you want to hear a Scotty concert (which we believe was one of Randy Jackson’s favorite phrases during season 10), we have some good news for those of you who have QVC: the season 10 champ’s going to be paying a visit. Be sure to set your DVRs or watch live on Tuesday, October 23, as he will be performing some songs from his “Christmas with Scotty McCreery” album as a part of a set that also includes his “Clear As Day” debut.
