Grand Hotel episode 10 preview: The story of ‘Suite Little Lies’

Grand Hotel episode 10 carries with it the title of “Suite Little Lies,” and it feels like with that, someone at ABC was clearly trying to make some sort of Big Little Lies reference. We’re not sure that it’s pun-ny enough to work, but we respect at least the hustle of using another show to get more attention to your own. That’s what this show needs since it’s bouncing around on the bubble and we’re waiting to find out if ABC is going to run up to it with a needle in order to pop it.

So what’s the story going to be moving forward? Think along the lines of temporary healing. We mean that mostly for Santiago and Gigi, who will spend some time trying to make things better for themselves even though there’s a less-than-spectacular chance that they’re actually going to stay good. We think that we’ve been around the world of dramas like this for long enough to know that people don’t just get better and happy near the end of the season. Instead, they get ready to careen off of the nearest cliff while you wait in fear of what’s going to be coming up next.

So yeah, we’re worried still about Santiago and Gigi … and we’re also worried about how the writers are going to resolve the story of Sky’s disappearance. It’s been the big mystery of the season more than anything else and it’s not like there is some sheer abundance of time now in order to resolve it. The team’s going to have to move quickly to figure things out.

Santiago and Gigi’s relationship is on the mend after secrets they have been keeping from each other are revealed. Danny teams up with the police to try and figure out what happened to Sky, and Javi takes on a new hobby.

As much as we recognize that we’re meant to be thinking about Sky at the moment, we’ll admit that we’re just as interested in learning about Javi’s new hobby as anything.
