The image above is one of many from Wednesday night’s “If the Shoe Fits,” an episode that will feature Mike’s return as the main promotional component of it. We’ll see the character emerge for business reasons, as we’re going to see him and Harvey clash over a new case. It even seems like they’re clashing in the photo! It almost feels like Donna is there to make sure that both sides are heard — she is the ultimate mediator, though you better believe that she’s going to have some clear thoughts on this subject herself. She’s never going to sit idly.
As serious as this moment feels, remember that there are many fun moments coming as well. We’ve already seen a sneak peek that features the reunion of Mike and Harvey, and it’s every bit as fun and family-based as we would want. Who doesn’t want to get Batman and Robin back in the same room together? Fingers crossed that whatever they go through within this episode (which is also going to involve Samantha Wheeler being stuck in the middle) is not going to wreck their relationship for good.
In the end, Suits season 9 episode 5 could be one for the books. If nothing else, it feels already like it’s going to be a mighty fun time to watch unfold, both from a storytelling and nostalgia standpoint. We want to hear what Donna and Mike say to each other after reuniting, as their relationship was a part of the original series’ magic alongside so many other things. We also want some good stuff between Mike and Louis Litt, so fingers crossed that this isn’t left behind somewhere.
