SEAL Team season 3 spoilers: Supernatural alum stopping by
According to a new report coming in courtesy of Deadline, you are going to see Supernatural and The Mentalist alum Emily Swallow return to the CBS series in the role of Dr. Natalie Pierce, someone described as a “research physiologist who’s tasked with increasing the Bravo Team’s operational longevity.” As you would imagine, Pierce is going to be important as we work towards seeing some stability with the unit after so much emotional and physical turmoil these past 2 seasons.
Want some more examples of what Bravo Team has been dealing with? Think along these lines — Ray having a crisis of faith and family, Sonny nearly drowning, Clay recovering from a serious injury, and Jason opting to sell his house in order to make sure his daughter gets an education. That’s without even mentioning the death of Alana last fall. Bravo Team has gone through it.

Given that Pierce is a physiologist rather than a psychologist, we’re not sure how much she will be able to help with the emotional issues the team has gone through. Yet, your brain is connected to the rest of your body, and being of the right mind is going to impact your physical performance in the field. This character could help to make sure that Bravo feels healthy every time they go out on a mission, whether it be via their training regimen or the tools that they have in place to recover from some of these missions. These are long hours often in random parts of the world and this is the sort of job that comes with burnout. If she can help reduce that and ensure that the Team is a little more stable in the long-term, then we feel like the military is going to be happy to have her.
Swallow is coming off of an appearance on Elementary this summer, and she will be returning to Supernatural as Amara a.k.a. The Darkness at some point before the end of the series.
