grown-ish season 3 premiere date hopes for Yara Shahidi, cast
Let’s start of course, with the very-good news that you’re not going to be seeing a cancellation come down the pipeline. Freeform has already given the show a green light for a season 3! The news was handed down earlier this year, and it’s enough to make us confident that we’ll be seeing this show stick around for quite some time still.
If you were to look at the live ratings alone for grown-ish, maybe you would not be that impressed — we’re talking about a show generating a 0.2 rating in the 18-49 demographic and just under 500,000 viewers a week. Yet, this is just a small sample of what the series’ overall audience is, as there are so many more outlets for this series. Think in terms of DVR viewership streaming, and a whole lot more. This is the sort of series that also has significant brand equity because of the black-ish name. The original ABC comedy is also still going strong, let alone the upcoming mixed-ish prequel series that is coming a little bit later this fall.
So let’s get back now to the timing for a grown-ish season 3 — we would expect it to premiere at some point in 2020. Is there a chance for some sort of holiday special beforehand? We’re not ruling that out, especially after the news came out that Good Trouble will be coming out with one of their own a little bit later this year. It would make since for grown-ish to try something like that, especially since 21 episodes is an odd number in which to end a season.
We’ll have more news on grown-ish season 3 as it starts to come out. Given that sophomore year is ending in the finale, moving forward we’re going to see these characters grow and evolve in some interesting ways. They have to figure out what they want to do as adults, what causes they want to fight for, and who they want to be as people.
