Outlander season 5, cast will be coming to New York Comic-Con

Outlander season 4

This morning, Starz went ahead and made it official — for the second straight year, Outlander season 5 will be coming to New York Comic-Con.

In a new post on Twitter, the network confirmed the news while also announcing an art sweepstakes that could allow someone the opportunity to spend some time around the cast when the convention happens.

For those wanting some finer details New York Comic Con takes place this year from Thursday, October 3 until Sunday, October 6. Unfortunately, there are no specifics as of yet when it comes to what day Outlander will be present for or which cast members will be there in attendance. We’re sure that it will be as many as possible, but also remember that it may still be subject to change. The series may very well still be in production in Scotland at the time of the convention and things can change up at the last second.

For the past few months, we’ve been unsure if the cast would be able to attend NYCC due mostly to their prior commitments with the show. We even thought that they may wait for WonderCon in the spring instead, given that this convention could be taking place at the time in which the show is airing and it’s of a similar caliber. (Selfishly, we love that convention and attend every year since it’s in our neck of the woods.)

New episodes of Outlander are slated to air in early 2020 and the New York Comic Con appearance will help promote that. This appearance means that Starz will likely have some sort of footage there to show off, whether it be a new trailer, a teaser, or just a look behind the scenes. The priority for Outlander will be making sure that production is done and the series is as strong as possible. We wouldn’t count on the premiere episode screening there like it did at New York Comic-Con last year, just because there is still so much time between the convention and the premiere date.
