The 100 season 6 finale spoilers: The struggle for Clarke ahead (video)
It’s clear from the preview (which CarterMatt has for you to watch below) that Clarke is going to be tested more than ever before. She’s lost so much, and she’s also now reeling from what happened to Abby. Yet, she’s still amidst everyone else in Sanctum, and she still has to pretend to be Josephine. As executive producer Jason Rothenberg notes, she has to mask whatever pain and heartache that she’s feeling over her mother. She has to find a way to keep fighting on, knowing that there is so much chaos in Sanctum and she may be the only one who can turn the tide.
The season 6 finale is entitled “The Blood of Sanctum” and we like to think that this is a pretty clear indicator of what sort of chaos is coming — let alone just how widespread a lot of that chaos could be. What does it mean to be a hero? How will those tell your story? These are important themes of both this episode, and then largely the entire season overall. Finding yourself within this sort of world can prove difficult, and the stakes are raised so much knowing that the upcoming season 7 will be the last. There’s not a whole lot of time for any of these characters to mess around. They gotta get to the next big part of the story so that the best possible ending is delivered.
Let’s just make one thing clear before the finale airs — don’t think that the writers are going to stop tormenting you now just because of everything that’s happened with Kane and Abby already. This is a world where some terrible stuff happens and with us being so close to the end, that’s going to give the writers a thought process of “there’s nothing to lose anymore.”
