MasterChef season 10: Renee Rice eliminated; episode 15 preview

MasterChef

Tonight, MasterChef season 10 delivered an episode that was largely about cake — and making the best one imaginable. The twist? Everyone had to deal with a different variety, and all of them proved to be challenging in their own way. It’s about patience, preparation, and a little bit of artistry at the same time. There’s a lot that goes into creating the perfect creation here — also, there’s an aesthetic component. You can make a cake that looks like a disaster, but was also delicious at the same time.

So who ended up being the person sent home on the other side of it? Bri, Nick, and Renee ended up being in the bottom and the judges had to figure out who did the worst job. Nick’s cake was overcooked on the outside, Renee played it a little safe and had boring base, and Bri’s carrot cake was a little too much like “pudding,” in Gordon Ramsay’s words.

Luckily for Nick, he was able to do just enough to avoid being eliminated — that left us with Bri and Renee and, in the end, the judges’ decision was consensus. Renee Rice was eliminated, and luckily, Bri Baker did not get eliminated on a competition that was all about baking.

Renee goes home with at least something to be happy about — she made it far and she made some delicious food throughout the season.

What’s next on MasterChef season 10 episode 15?

Next week, you’re going to have an episode that features a guest judge in Candace Nelson, who is well-known for Sprinkles cupcakes. It’s a little unusual to feature a baking challenge after another baking challenge, but maybe that is a theme for the week.

Moving into tomorrow’s episode, we know that one home cook has immunity and then also $5,000 worth of fantastic countertop cooking products. Dorian ended up being the champion tonight for her cake, that puts her in a great position moving forward. She doesn’t have to worry about a whole lot!

Below, CarterMatt has the MasterChef season 10 episode 15 synopsis with more news as to what is coming up:

Special guest judge Candace Nelson gives the home cooks 75 minutes to create one dozen delicious macarons.
