Light Balance Kids get Golden Buzzer on America’s Got Talent Judge Cuts
Entering tonight’s episode, we were excited to see what Kemper brought to the table. Out of the guest judges that we’ve seen so far this season, she is the person we admittedly knew the least about. We were definitely aware of her talents, but we don’t know about her as a person or what would appeal to her as a judge. Would she root for a singer, a dancer, or someone who mixed compelling stories with a great talent?

Instead of going the somewhat predictable route, Ellie chose Light Balance Kids — sure, they do fit the mold of a Golden Buzzer act in that they are kids. Yet, they’re also a dance group and they don’t often get a chance to shine in this capacity. What makes their golden buzzer moment so unique is that the original Light Balance got a golden buzzer from then-host Tyra Banks on America’s Got Talent years ago. They are the sort of act that is extremely fun and creative to people who have never seen anything like this before. For Ellie, this may have been a totally new and exciting experience.
While their dance was very entertaining, we almost think that the choreography and the routine was the best we’ve seen from either this act or Light Balance on this show. It was just so fun and high-energy — the sports theme worked and the dancers were totally on point.
Do we think that Light Balance Kids have a chance to win America’s Got Talent? They are a longshot, mostly because we don’t think that America will get the same new-act feeling from them that Ellie did. Yet, they are fantastic and there’s no denying it.
