Power season 6 video: Tommy prepares for war on Ghost

With the August 25 premiere of Power season 6 less than a month away, here is yet another reminder for you that we are on the cusp of one of the series’ greatest wars.

At the start of the series, one of the things we knew was that Ghost and Tommy’s relationship would persevere. These two had a brotherhood. They grew up together, they witnessed death, and they got into the game with one another. They could’ve gone the distance together but so much stuff got in the way. Think in terms of secrets, differing loyalties, life decisions, and eventually betrayal. It brought the two to the position that they’re in now entering the final season, one where you’ve got the two presumably set to do battle with each other. On one side of the playing field you have Ghost; Tommy’s standing on the other.

For now, it appears that the point of no return is shooting Angela. Even if the character survives, will the relationship that Ghost and Tommy once had still be there? The friendship may wither away amidst a sea of revenge and the new promo below offers up examples of what the conflict could look like and just how dangerous everything could become. By the end of the series, there may be a few occasions where your jaw starts to legitimately hover close to the floor.

If there’s any reason to hope that the two find their way to get through some of their issues, it’s this: The simple fact that they’ve gotten through a number of them in the past. Right when you think that they’ve hit their breaking point, they somehow gravitate back towards one another. It’s one of the odder, more intriguing trends with this series and we’ve had a tendency to see it now, time and time again — it adds to the mystery entering the final chapter.
