Outlander season 5: The latest date projections to know
Let’s start with what we projected previously — “early 2020” doesn’t mean January. More than likely, it means late February/early March unless the network wants to air the fifth season at the same time as the final episodes of Power. It’s hard to imagine them putting on two of their most-popular series at the same time, but anything is possible.
Presuming, though, that the late February/early March premiere window sticks, when can we expect more goodies? Think along the following lines.
First teaser with real footage – November/early December feels like the perfect window. It’s a time when people can get excited, and also can catch up if they are behind over the holidays when there is not that much when it comes to new television on the air.
Second teaser or new look behind-the-scenes – We don’t often get a second teaser but, if we do, we would imagine Starz would want to drop some big stuff right in the thick of the holiday season. While we understand that there are a lot of other things going on at that time, viewers will still be engaged in more Outlander!
First full trailer – Our prediction at the moment is that Starz will drop something before the midseason premiere of Power — it’s a further incentive to get people watching those final episodes and since it’s on the other side of the holidays, there will not be all that much for viewers to otherwise be distracted by.
The timing of these big releases matters mostly so that Starz and Sony get the most on their investment. It benefits them to be able to make a big splash, and if nothing else, getting casual fans interested in the idea could encourage them to watch the first two seasons over at Netflix. That’s why we think it’s such a great thing that they can be found over there. It gives everyone a further incentive to watch.
