Arrow season 8: Colin Donnell teases Tommy’s return
“I think Stephen said it best at Comic-Con … I think fans are going to see Tommy in a way that they’ve maybe wanted for a while.”

So what does that mean? Maybe it just means back as a normal human being, living and breathing in another Earth or another timeline. Or, maybe it means another world where Tommy is a Big Bad. No matter what it is, there’s a lot of excitement that comes from him being back — and given that Donnell is not on Chicago Med for longer than the premiere episode, there could be a chance to see more of him than just the standard appearance in the first episode.
Donnell also goes on to describe the feeling that comes with being back on the show after so many years away from it:
“It’s been a gift to be able to come back over the years and over the seasons and be a continued part of the family as it’s grown into what it is now … It’s cool to see what our show was and to see how it’s expanded into the whole Arrowverse that exists now. I’m really proud of it and happy to be back for this last season in a very different way. You know, to sort of cap off a whole eight years of our lives. It was cool.”
We’re still hoping to see a number of other notable Arrow cast members from the past come back, whether it be Willa Holland, Manu Bennett, John Barrowman, and of course Emily Bett Rickards. Some castings may remain a secret for some time leading into the final season premiering. The #1 thing that we have to hope for is that Arrow both honors the past in its final season while also paving the way for some of these characters’ futures. If it can do that, odds are we’ll be feeling good on the other side.
