Madam Secretary season 6 filming underway in New York City!
In a new post on Instagram, series star Erich Bergen confirmed that everyone is back at work, ready to make the final stage of the series happen. Season 6 for the season is going to be a quest like no other, one geared around an attempt by one Elizabeth McCord in order to become President. She announced her candidacy at the end of season 5, with the basis being trying to be a part of an America that works for everyone.
When Madam Secretary does premiere this fall, be prepared for a show that is about working to find the good in the world and celebrating those heroes who are willing to do and give their all for the sake of others. This is a series that has told many a fantastic story over the years and we continue to hope that it will do the same thing now — especially in an election climate that can be so ugly and difficult to deal with. You have to confront the issues in the world and then celebrate the common good. That is what Elizabeth McCord does. She’s not an idealist, but she does find a way to bring a sense of optimism out there.
To us, it is hard to accept an ending of this series that does not involve Elizabeth becoming President of the United States, but we also recognize full well at this point that we are not the one in control.
We’re going to miss this show when it’s over; few managed to deliver intelligent writing and a smart view of politics while also being still relatable to every viewer. We always struggled with the balance between Elizabeth’s home and work lives at the start of the series but the longer it’s gone on, the more we appreciate it — and the more it’s made us feel like Elizabeth is a representation of the good in a lot of us.
