If you wanted another reason to be excited for Elementary season 7 episode 11 to air on CBS coming up, here it is — a chance to see John Noble return! Morland Holmes is a big part of the show’s mythology — he is a big part of the reason why Sherlock Holmes is how he is. He also has a vast criminal network that often proves useful in extreme circumstances. He’s not the ideal person to collaborate with much of the time, but every now and then, these meetings of the minds do end up proving to have some fantastic results.
On this occasion, the goal for Sherlock and Watson is rather simple — use Morland to help defeat Odin Reichenbach, their Big Bad for the season. Given that there are a couple of episodes to come on the other side of this story, it’s hard to believe that they will be entirely successful … but it will be interesting to see them try.

“Unfriended” – Holmes and Watson join forces with Holmes’ father, Morland (John Noble), to enlist his vast criminal network to help disassemble tech billionaire Odin Reichenbach’s crime prevention system, on ELEMENTARY, Thursday, August 1 (10:00-11:00 PM, ET/PT), on the CBS Television Network. Lucy Liu directed the episode.
For Lucy Liu, we’re glad that she had one more opportunity to step into the director’s chair before this season came to a close. She’s done this on a number of other occasions, and she’s even taken some of her talents to a few other series. Think along the lines of Luke Cage, Law & Order: SVU, and Liu’s own upcoming series Why Women Kill over at CBS All Access. This is one of the great things about a network given their cast an opportunity to step into the director’s chair for an episode — it opens the doors for so many other opportunities beyond just acting. That is a gift that Lucy can cherish as she continues to move forward throughout some other avenues in her career.
